Influence of Computers and software in Literature

Computers have a positive effect on literature of a child where they provide exercises that strengthen the learning of precise skills taught in classroom and issues out instant results on the precision of the response. A child exposed to computers has the ability to develop visual skills by observing information, which is given through the monitor. The child will learn sounds and relate what the sounds mean in the early life. The sounds that are learnt can enhance the speaking skills in a child’s life even in the absenter of a teacher. This child will be able to learn listening skills that are very important in a person’s life. For instance a child will be curious and remain attentive when the computer produces any sound thus creating good environment for learning.

Computers are good tools that help children in learning grammar especially English whereby they correct any spelling errors and are able to detect any fragrance and incorrect sentences.  Therefore, computers enhance students’ performance and the skills learned in classroom. For example, when the children are taught about sentence structure and verb uses, they are able to enhance their skills when they use computers especially word document that is able to detect any grammar and sentence structure errors.

Literature books as a learning tool

Children novels are really entertaining. They also pass important information to this child. Some of the fascinating books that I have read and helped to improve the ability to respond to issues in life include The Outsiders by S.E Hionton, which helped me to understand how poverty affects children’s growth in town (Hionton, p98). The writer uses artistic skills to give bring about the issue of poverty and how it affects the life of the poor urban settlers. This is a good literature inspirational book that has greatly helped me to note the significance of supporting people suffering in various ways especially with hunger. People living in poverty need help and through the book, I truly discovered their needs and the need to help and support them.

Roll of Thunder is another interesting book that explained how segregation really affected the life of people in the South of America; this is a fantastic book written by Mildred D. Taylor (Taylor, p144). Through the literature in the book, I was able to understand the differences brought about by racial differences. The book talks about the African American and the challenges they face in a white dominated nation; the US. It gives a picture of people mistreating others just because of the skin color. It is the writer’s opinion that color should not be the basis of favor.   The grave by James Heneghan teaches on the importance of supporting one another. Think Big by Ben Carson is another interesting book that educates people and makes them be focused in life and remain positive towards development. The literature in the book has been a source of inspiration in my life because it highlights sensitive issues like the strategies that an individual need to lay down in order to be successful in life. For example, Ben Carson gives his lifestyle, how he was a foolish student while in lower classes during his period in school.

However, his mother knew he was not foolish and kept on telling him that if others can do it, he can do it better!.It was not until he began reading literature books and discovering new words in English that he begun improving his performance in class. This proves how powerful literature is and when a child puts his or her interest in it, he can make it in life.  Therefore, it is a good inspirational book that gives people some simple tips towards development in literature and life in general. If a student gets the opportunity to read the tips issued out in Think Big, he or she will be in a better position to perform well in classroom.

Poetry

Poetry is an art of passing messages to the reader by using stylistic devices. There are there are many people who have used poetry as a teaching and succeeded in class delivery.

The most well known poet who wrote poems for young kids was Shel Silverstain This poet  wrote various  interesting and educative poems not only  to children to adults. He employed different styles to attract the attention of the reader. The styles that he uses include rhyming, repetition, and alliteration among others. Shel was born in Chicago on 25/09/1930.the aspect of this writer can be employed in a classroom situation by organizing the major points in poetry form. The tune and the organization should be simple for the learner to recite thus making the learning more meaningful.  Shel wrote many poems. “What if” is one of the educative poems that he wrote during his life time.

Story mapping in child teaching

Mapping in teaching is a very important aspect. It involves creative identification of key terms in atopic and organize them in diagrams of different shapes. It can be very effective when these key words are identified and put forward to the child in form of a story. The story should be very appealing to the child to make this child eager to tell thus leading remembering the facts easily. The storybooks identified in this context can be helpful during teaching of young kids. They will induce human values and the ability to remain one self. More so, the characters in the book can be used to explain some facts. The characters can also be given names related to the topic during teaching. Young kids normally create likes and dislikes among the characters in a storybook. Characters with bad values can be used to teach pupils learn to avoid bad behaviors while good characters learnt from individuals who have desirable moral values.

Conclusion

Literature takes the greatest share in child’s learning process. It also takes advantage of incorporating almost all the best teaching methods. When a child reads a storybook, three is a possibility of acquiring knowledge and apply it in life. A child who likes reading or reciting poems will always attain assertiveness faster than a child who never pays attention to poems.

Story mapping is a very effective method of passing knew skills to a child.

All these methods can be employed in teaching of young pupils in schools to help them remember the facts in different topics easily. For instance, poetry can be used to teach one topic, storytemapping in another topic and computers in another topic .this sends a message to teachers that there are very many methods that should be used in their lessons. It also indicates that when effective teaching methods are used, there is high potential for pupils to perform well.
